Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Motoko Base ("Motoko"), including the Motoko website, purchasing flows, and related product materials. By accessing Motoko or completing a purchase, you agree to these Terms.

These Terms become effective when you first access Motoko or when you complete a purchase, whichever occurs first. Continued use of Motoko after changes are published on this page constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

A purchase grants you a perpetual license to use the Motoko codebase according to the separate Motoko License Agreement. In summary:

• Motoko is sold as a one-time purchase.
• You receive access to the purchased version of Motoko available at the time of purchase.
• You receive lifetime updates while Motoko continues to provide them for the product.
• You may use Motoko to build unlimited personal and commercial projects.
• You do not acquire ownership of the Motoko source code itself; the purchase grants usage rights under the License Agreement.

Motoko is a digital product. Once repository or product access has been granted, purchases are non-refundable. If you have trouble accessing what you purchased, contact us using the details below and we will help resolve access issues.

Motoko includes lifetime updates for the product. Updates may include new features, fixes, improvements, and security updates. Motoko does not guarantee a specific update frequency. Future updates may change, replace, or remove functionality.

Motoko is provided "as is" and "as available." To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Motoko makes no warranties that Motoko will meet every specific requirement, operate without interruption, or be free from errors.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Motoko and its contributors are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, goodwill, or business opportunities arising from your use of Motoko or inability to use Motoko. Motoko's total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to these Terms or your purchase is limited to the amount you paid for Motoko, if any.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations. In those cases, the limitation applies to the fullest extent permitted by law.

You are responsible for:

Motoko is not responsible for user-created applications, content, or third-party configurations.

• Applications and products you build with Motoko
• Content you publish or process through those applications
• Third-party services you connect or configure
• Compliance with laws applicable to your use and projects

Pricing displayed on the Motoko website may change for future customers. Existing purchases remain governed by the terms applicable at the time of purchase. If a launch or early-buyer discount is shown on the website, that discount applies only to eligible purchases made while the offer is available.

Motoko integrates with or can be configured to use third-party services, including (as applicable):

Those services have their own terms and privacy policies. Your use of them is subject to those terms in addition to these Terms.

• Supabase (opens in a new tab) for database hosting
• Cloudflare (opens in a new tab) (including R2 storage where used)
• PostHog (opens in a new tab) for product analytics
• Sentry (opens in a new tab) for error monitoring
• OAuth providers such as Google and GitHub
• AI providers connected through the Vercel AI SDK (opens in a new tab)

Motoko may update these Terms from time to time. The latest version will be published on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Material changes apply going forward from publication unless otherwise stated.

These Terms are governed by the laws of Vietnam, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where mandatory consumer protections in your place of residence apply.
